What a pleasant surprise! We were well aware of Egypt's abundant offerings, particularly its historical treasures, but we never imagined that this remarkable country would captivate us in so many delightful ways.
To begin with, this vacation has been a departure from our usual choices.
We decided to take a break at one of the incredible resorts in Hurghada. Hurghada is a relatively new city, and as a result, the coastline is dominated by a variety of luxurious 5-star resorts.
That's why we thought it would be the perfect place to escape for a week.
While some parts of the coastline are modern and tourist-oriented, the city center retains its authentic charm, with plenty of local shops and restaurants to explore.
But it's not just the mesmerizing sea and the perfect windy weather that make Hurghada special.
Its location is also a major advantage, as it's just a 4-hour car ride away from Luxor, the epicenter of Egypt's most significant historical hotspots.
And if you have more time on hand, Cairo is only 7 hours away!
As first-time visitors to Egypt, we have to admit that our impression has been incredibly positive. Our experience at the resort was nothing short of amazing, and our tours were both fascinating and enlightening.
Everyone we met was exceptionally warm and friendly, and we felt safe throughout our entire trip. We stayed at the Prima Life resort, where the staff went above and beyond to make our stay truly special. The resort boasts a large swimming pool, and the beach is one of the best in the area, with clean waters and beautiful coral reefs to explore.
The resort itself has everything you could ask for, including five restaurants.
One offers a mix of continental and local cuisine, while another specializes in oriental dishes.
There's also a Chinese restaurant, as well as the more romantic and elegant Excelsior restaurant. And of course, there's the Azura restaurant right on the beach. We tried all of them, and they were all fantastic!
Each restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, especially the buffet and oriental restaurant. The freshly baked bread, in particular, was absolutely perfect.
The chefs were incredibly skilled and attentive, especially considering our dietary restrictions.
They always made sure we had something special to enjoy.
All in all, our time in Hurghada exceeded our expectations. It left us with wonderful memories of a truly unforgettable vacation.

The combination of rich history, breathtaking natural beauty, and the genuine hospitality of the people made our stay absolutely perfect.
For adults seeking some extra excitement, you'll find a scuba diving center, parasailing, and speed boat rides by the beach. There are plenty of options to choose from!
However, based on our experience, we opted to book additional activities with external companies.
In total, our stay lasted 7 days. While our main goal was to relax and enjoy the resort, we also engaged in some fun activities.
We decided to reach out to get in contact with Royal Cruise Hurghada which organizes luxury boat trips to Orange Bay and other destinations, complete with games and scuba diving.
The tour commenced early in the morning, and the company also arranged transfers to and from the resorts.
The trip started from Hurghada Marina, the bustling port of Hurghada, which houses numerous restaurants and serves as the departure point for various tours. The marina is conveniently located just 10 minutes away from the coast, making it easily accessible.
Our boat trip was an absolute blast! Despite the early wake-up call, we had an incredible time with the crew who made the experience truly special. They spoiled us with refreshing drinks throughout the day, ensuring we were well taken care of.
The first activity of the day was water games.
We spent around 15 minutes in the open water, enjoying various water games that provided an adrenaline rush and helped us wake up before our adventure to Orange Bay.
The boat itself was incredibly comfortable, and they even had a therapist on board offering relaxing massages at any time. So whether you wanted some excitement or relaxation, there were options for everyone.
Orange Bay was our next stop, and it didn't take long to reach there, thanks to the comfortable boat.
The location was beautiful, but do expect it to be quite touristy with many people. Nevertheless, there was plenty of space by the sea to relax, have drinks, enjoy some food, and, of course, take lots of pictures.
We spent an hour there, which felt like ample time to soak in the beauty of this amazing island.
The next activity was even more thrilling! We stopped at an incredible spot for snorkeling and scuba diving.
The water had an unbelievable color, and its clarity allowed us to see all the fishes surrounding the boat.
It was a truly magical sight.
The team explained the basics of scuba diving to us, divided us into couples, and provided all the necessary equipment.
However, scuba diving was optional, so if you didn't feel comfortable or simply didn't want to participate, you could stay on the boat, soak up the sun, or swim in the amazing Red Sea.
For us, scuba diving was the highlight of the day. It was our first time, and we absolutely loved it.
The fish and coral we encountered were awe-inspiring and being so close to them felt truly magical.
After the thrilling adventure, it was time for lunch.
The chef prepared a fantastic buffet for us, filled with fresh and delicious dishes. We savored every bite and appreciated the culinary delights.
We ended the day with more snorkeling, leaving us speechless once again. The water was crystal clear, perfect for capturing stunning pictures and having fun.

Back at the resort, the fun doesn't stop. After the animation show by the pool, they organize trips to discos along the coastline. These discos are typically located within hotels, ensuring a safe environment.
They arrange transportation to and from the resort, so you can dance the night away and return to your accommodation whenever you wish.
It's a great way to enhance the resort experience and make it even more enjoyable for everyone, young and old alike.
Could we possibly visit Egypt without including Luxor in our itinerary? Definitely not! Luxor, although a 4-hour car journey from Hurghada, is an absolute must-visit destination that is well worth the travel time.
The car trip itself was probably the easiest part of the day.
We had organized our tour through a reputable tour operator, Marsa Alam Excursions which we definitely reccomend if you are looking for a private tour.
Our tour guide, and the driver picked us up from the resort bright and early in the morning, and we reached our first destination by around 9:30 am.
As it turned out, May is one of the hottest months in Egypt, and we certainly felt it upon arrival at the Tomb Place.
When we stepped out of the car, the scorching heat hit us. The Valley of the Kings, located in the middle of the desert, offered us the opportunity to visit and admire some of the most significant tombs from ancient Egypt.
The entrance ticket to the park was affordable with four tomb entrance, each one more beautiful then the previous one, and we had the option to upgrade to visit the famous Tomb Of Tut Ankh Amun. which we definitely reccomend to visit once you are there
Our guide was incredibly helpful, providing us with detailed explanations before entering the tombs. We learned so much about the Valley of the Kings.
Despite arriving early in the morning, the temperatures were extremely high, reaching a sweltering 45 degrees Celsius. It's essential to stay hydrated and dress appropriately for such weather conditions.
After exploring the Valley of the Kings, we proceeded to the majestic Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut.
Even before entering, you could already sense the grandeur of this place. It's an excellent spot for capturing videos and photos.
The temple was really stunning, and the stairs leading to it were an unforgettable experience.
The interior were a little bit empty compared to the Tombs in the Valley of the King, but the building itself was one of a kind.
Rest assured, at all the locations mentioned, there are designated areas where you can relax, find fresh water, and take a break from the scorching sun.
Our tour also included a lunch break, conveniently organized for us.
The restaurant was located around 30 minutes from the Temple, and it was situated by the majestic river Nile, providing a picturesque setting for all the other tourists, like us, who were exploring the surrounding areas of Luxor.
The food was delicious and varied, with buffet options catering to different dietary preferences, including vegetarian, meat, and gluten-free choices.
It was a much-needed break, allowing us to recharge and refuel amidst the challenging weather conditions.
The final stop of our day was the awe-inspiring Karnak Temple It took us approximately 1 hour to reach this magnificent ancient site from the restaurant.
Once we entered, there was no time limit for our stay, and the place was vast, filled with numerous monuments and fascinating discoveries like the Avenue of The Rams and the Ramesses 3rd Temple
We embarked on our visit accompanied by our knowledgeable guide, who provided insightful explanations about the history of Ancient Egypt.
It was incredibly interesting and enhanced our understanding of the site. We also had the opportunity to explore the ruins on our own, taking the time to capture videos and pictures.
It was truly a memorable experience wandering in the Hypostyle Hall a one in a kind open air hall, filled with majestic column with hieroglyphs engraved on it.
As the day came to an end, it was time to bid farewell to our amazing tour guide.
We then embarked on the journey back to Hurghada with our trusted driver.
It had been a long and scorching day, but witnessing such incredible sights made it all worthwhile.
Our time in Egypt was absolutely incredible, and it was largely thanks to the amazing people we encountered who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was unforgettable.
