Greece is also famous for its beautiful islands, among them the stunning Rhodes surrounded by clear water, and populated by smiling people.

About the weather...

From April until the end of October you will always find good weather, obviously, the perfect season to go is summer. We visited Rhodes at beginning of June, honestly, the weather was perfect, we only had one day of rain. Also, the island wasn't too crowded and that made our stay even more amazing.

Rhodes will always stay in our heart, we decided to split our holiday in two. First, we stayed in the North part of the island, and then we stayed in the South so that we could explore most of it.

Rhodes town, on the north part of the island, is probably the first place you will see, considering that the airport is a few KM away.

The town itself is really beautiful, but we decided to spend only a few nights there and give more space to the central and south area of the island.

Do not forget to visit the Acropolis of Rhodes smaller than another acropolis that you can find in Greece, but still with its charm.

From the pic, you can see the face of someone that lives in London, where every day is basically raining and freaking cold, and after a long winter finally goes to the beach!

Kallithea Beach is one of our favourite beaches, really close to Rhodes town, it's a rocky beach with crystal water,

We enjoyed it so much that we visited this beach another time before leaving for London.

Not far from Kallithea you will find Anthony Quinn Bay named after the famous actor, it's obviously a really beautiful beach, but just to be clear, is always overcrowded with prices over the greek average.

Moving South

Before arriving in Lindos, you must stop at Ktima.

It's a restaurant with the most beautiful view. As you can see from the pic, they also have an infinite pool where you can spend your day.

If you fancy a good lunch by the pool .. this is definitely the right place, their food is amazing and the location is unique!

Lindos is a typical greek acropolis, built on top of a hill you can find the castle of the city, that is easily reachable by walk or with the donkey. We felt in love with Lindos, walking around the small alleys, dining on the terraces, with the beautiful view of the white houses and of the castle, well we are not ashamed to say that we found ourselves on those terraces several times during our holiday, it was simply magic.

If you still fancy a bit of sea, because is never enough, we really liked Glistra Beach with its shallow and diamond clear water. Contrary to what we believed, the south of the island doesn't have a lot to offer, apart from a few small villages and few other beaches. At the extreme south, you can find Prassonissi a beach that gets split in half during the high tide, and is very famous among surfers, due to the high wind that you can find there for the most part of the day.

Rhodes is a beautiful island, full of stunning beaches with crystal water, is the right place if you want to have a holiday rich with sun, water and great food.

Did anyone say Food or Drinks?!

Here our favourite places

Our first impact with the greek cuisine was at Γειτονιά Μεζεδοκαφενές a beautiful family restaurant not far from the Rhodes Town.

Still, in the city centre, we had a beautiful dinner at Minos Roof Garden Cafe a 3-star hotel that has a beautiful view of the city and the sea without spending a fortune, bare in mind that his quiet a walk uphill.

Moving south we find out a really particular restaurant, Παραλία Νικόλας Καλλιθέα where the table are right in the sea, and you can eat fish, with fishes swimming around your feet.

Right on top of a small hill, there is a local taverna, Ταβέρνα ΜΙΜΑΚΟΣ where you can eat mainly meat, all produced from the farmhouse owned by the restaurant itself.

Did you ever tried the Sea Urchin, it's quite hard to find in Rhodes, but O Gialos give it to us to try, they have it only on specific days of the week. so better call in advance.

In Lindos you will have a huge choice of restaurant on top of a terrace, facing the castle, usually are overpriced considering the competitors in other parts of the island, but apart from that is a beautiful experience, we most liked Stefanos Restaurant and Alex's Restaurant Lindos

Rhodes is a Greek island, and that means obviously greek food, and nothing beats that, fresh fish seasoned easily, and juicy meats will be at the base of your meal most of your time, thanks to that many dishes are naturally gluten free too.
